[ET Net News Agency, 23 January 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$74.57 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$11.56 billion, or 15.5% of the
market's turnover. There were 626 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.53 billion and HK$694.02
million, or 13.22% and 6% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 31.13% and 30.19% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$549.87 million and HK$503.69
million of short sales, accounting for 4.76% and 4.36% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 24.36% and 25.98% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.07, or 0.35%, to HK$20.04. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$0.38, or
0.52%, to HK$73.82. XIAOMI-W fell HK$0.35, or 0.99% to HK$34.95. MEITUAN-W jumped HK$0.1,
or 0.07%, to HK$152.6.
