[ET Net News Agency, 21 February 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$209.39 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$26.62 billion, or 12.71% of the
market's turnover. There were 670 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.52 billion and HK$2.47 billion, or
13.21% and 9.27% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
13.18% and 13.79% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$2.44 billion and HK$1.61
billion of short sales, accounting for 9.17% and 6.03% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 47.61% and 41.84% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$15.4, or 12.74%, to HK$136.3. TENCENT ended up HK$21.7, or 4.46%, to
HK$508.5. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.265, or 4.93% to HK$5.635. BYD COMPANY jumped HK$20.6, or
5.49%, to HK$395.6.
