[ET Net News Agency, 21 February 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$393.6 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$54.65 billion, or 13.88% of the
market's turnover. There were 710 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$6.54 billion and HK$5.21 billion, or
11.96% and 9.53% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
14.71% and 13.92% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$4.72 billion and HK$3.11
billion of short sales, accounting for 8.64% and 5.69% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 47.91% and 41.85% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$17.6, or 14.56%, to HK$138.5. TENCENT ended up HK$30.2, or 6.2%, to
HK$517. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.365, or 6.8% to HK$5.735. BYD COMPANY jumped HK$17.4, or
4.64%, to HK$392.4.
